COC Offense Powers Past Citrus
The College of the Canyons baseball team scored 15 runs off 14 hits, as they defeated Citrus College 15-3 on Saturday afternoon.
GLENDORA, Calif. - The College of the Canyons baseball team scored 15 runs off 14 hits, as they defeated Citrus College 15-3 on Saturday afternoon.
COC scored seven runs in the second inning, thanks to RBI singles by outfielders Kevin Lenik and Kamran Young and a three-run triple by catcher Alex Bishop.
The Cougars then scored five runs in the fifth inning, as Bishop drove in his fourth run of the day and third baseman Trey Williams hit a two-run homer.
Williams and Bishop combined for three hits and six RBIs, while infielders Quincy Quintero and Chad DeLaGuerra combined for six hits and two RBIs. Pitcher Steven Farnworth allowed six hits and zero earned runs over six innings of work to receive his fifth win of the season.
COC will travel to L.A. Valley on Tuesday, April 16 for a 2:30 p.m. game.
