No. 4 Canyons Claims 15-1 Rain-Shortened Victory
With the win over West L.A., the Cougars have now won six in a row to sit in first place in the Western State Conference (WSC), South.
The No. 4 ranked College of the Canyons baseball team defeated visiting West L.A. 15-1 in a shortened six inning contest. The game was called early due to poor playing conditions related to inclement weather.

After a monster 11-run first inning from the Cougars, the game went into a rain delay. Play resumed 40-minutes later, but was again called off when the downpour returned between the sixth and seventh innings.
The Cougars racked up 11 hits in 30 at-bats while only striking out once.
COC freshman outfielder Chad Bible led the way with six RBIs, three of which came in his first at-bat when he hit a opposite field three-run home run. Bible's knock was his tenth of the season, which leads the state. He also scored three runs on the day.
Sophomore outfielder Roy Verdejo added two RBIs in two hits and scored a run.
Sophomore right-handed pitcher Jacob Musial pitched five innings allowing only three hits and one run while striking out eight. He improved to 6-1 on the season.
Canyons will return to action on Thursday March 31, as they travel to face West L.A. (9-12, 3-4) in game two of the three-game series.
