Cougars Contained in 5-1 Home Loss
Canyons (9-10, 1-2) freshman Felix Brandt scored a run in the second but the Cougars could get no closer.

The Cougars were limited to a lone run in a 5-1 conference loss to Glendale College at Cougar Field on Tuesday.
Canyons (9-10, 1-2) fell behind 2-0 in the first inning but stayed within striking distance throughout the game.
The Cougars answered back with an RBI-single from Nate Duarte in the bottom of the second that plated Felix Brandt, but could get no closer.
Glendale (11-8, 2-1) received a strong six-inning bid from starter Gerardo Ramirez (2-3) who held the Cougars to four hits and one run, but issued six walks in the game. The Vaquero bullpen then combined to toss three scoreless innings of relief.
COC starter Brendan Henry (1-3) took the loss after his six innings of work. He allowed four earned runs on 10 hits, and struck out three. Relievers Nik White and Oskar Syren pitched the rest of the way, with White surrendering a run in the seventh.
Luke Chung reached base four times for the Cougars, going 2-for-3 with a pair of walks. Nick Henry was 1-for-4 with a double and walk.
The Cougars will remain home to host Victor Valley College at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
