Canyons Quarterback Devon Dunn Named SCFA Player of Week
The sophomore signal caller threw for 262 yards while also rushing for 96 yards and three touchdowns vs. Santa Ana College.
College of the Canyons sophomore quarterback Devon Dunn has been named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Northern League Co-Offensive Player of the Week based on his performance in the Cougars' 28-21 win vs. Santa Ana College in week three.
Dunn, who received the same honor after his week one performance vs. Mt. SAC, will share his most recent award with Cerritos College wide receiver De'Jai Whitaker.
The COC signal caller finished last week's game vs. Santa Ana 26-of-43 for 262 passing yards, while also rushing for 96 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.
Those totals also included a 29-yard game-winning run late in the fourth quarter that put the Cougars ahead for good.
Dunn has helped lead Canyons to its first 3-0 start since the 2008 season.
Additionally, the Cougars are currently the No. 5 ranked team in the state acording to the most recent statewide coaches poll released on Monday.
COC will begin its conference schedule on the road vs. Pasadena City College at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26.
