Andrew Brito Named SCFA Northern League Player of the Week
The freshman signal caller finished the game 20-of-29 for 395 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions — good for a 69 percent completion percentage.
College of the Canyons freshman quarterback Andrew Brito has been named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) Northern League Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Moorpark College in week eight.

Brito was instrumental in the Cougars' 40-16 win over Moorpark College on Saturday night.
The freshman signal caller finished the game 20-of-29 for 395 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions — good for a 69 percent completion percentage. He also added 14 yards rushing.
The 395 yards passing and 69 percent completion rate were both season highs, as was his rate of 13.6 yards per attempt.
Brito also connected with eight different receivers in the game.
Canyons is currently the No. 14 ranked team in the state according to the most recent California Community College Football Poll, as compiled by the JC Athletic Bureau.
The Cougars will next host No. 22 Cerritos College on Saturday, Oct. 28. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
