No. 1 Canyons to Host No. 18 Bakersfield in Week 10 Matchup
Canyons (9-0, 4-0) is looking to become just the fifth team in program history to finish the regular season undefeated.

College of the Canyons will host its fifth home game of the 2018 regular season as the Cougars square off against conference rival Bakersfield College at Cougar Stadium. Tonight's matchup is a National Division, Northern League game.

Canyons (9-0, 4-0) is coming off a 34-7 road victory over Long Beach City College in week nine that saw the Cougars extend their win streak to a state-best 14 games dating back to week seven the 2017 season.
COC continues to boast the top ranked defense in the state having held opponents to an average of just 7.2 points a game. The Cougars have allowed just six touchdowns on the season and are limiting opponents to a state-best 134.7 passing yards per game.
Canyons enters the contest as the No. 1 team in the state according to both the California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) Poll and the JC Athletic Bureau Head Coaches Poll. Bakersfield College is ranked No. 18 and No. 11, respectively.
Bakersfield (6-3, 3-1) posted a 31-0 home victory over Moorpark College in week nine, good for its third straight win. The Renegades previously lost 23-10 at Ventura College in week six.
The Cougars are 9-0 for the first time since 2008 and are looking to become just the fifth team in program history to finish the regular season undefeated (2008, 2005, 2004, 2003).
Canyons and Bakersfield last met in the 2017 season with the Cougars rolling to a 44-28 home victory.
