College of the Canyons football will host Ventura College in a CCCAA Regional Playoff game at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

No. 1 Canyons to Host No. 4 Ventura in CCCAA Playoff Game

No. 1 College of the Canyons will host No. 4 Ventura College in a California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Regional Playoff first round matchup at Cougar Stadium on Saturday Nov. 17. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

General admission tickets are $12. Students/staff from both schools, seniors over age 60 and children under 12 are $8.

Canyons (10-0, 5-0) is coming off a 42-30 home victory over Bakersfield College in week 10 that saw the Cougars extend their win state-leading win streak to 15 games and seize a Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division, Northern League Championship. The conference title is the program's 12th overall and first since 2013.

The 2018 Cougars also become just the fifth team in program history (2003, 2004, 2005, 2008) to finish the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record.

Ventura (9-1, 4-1) posted a 33-31 home victory over Long Beach City College in week 10 to end the regular season with back-to-back victories.

The Pirates finished as runner-up in the SCFA National Division, Northern League in 2018 after previosuly winning four straight conference titles. Ventura's lone loss this season came in week eight vs. College of the Canyons at Cougar Stadium.

Canyons is hosting a CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoff game for the first time since 2008. COC's last trip to the state playoffs came in 2013, when the Cougars lost in the opening round to eventual Southern California Champion Fullerton College.

The winner of Saturday's contest will move on to face the victor of the other CCCAA Southern California Regional Playoff game between No. 1 Riverside City College (10-0) and No. 3 El Camino College (8-2).
