BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The College of the Canyons men's basketball team suffered a tough conference loss on Saturday, as the Cougars fell 99-58 at the hands of No. 9 Bakersfield College.
Coming off an 11-point performance against Santa Monica in COC's previous game, guard James Chevious led the Cougars in scoring with 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds to go along with an assist and one steal.
COC's leading scorer, Victor Nwaba, added 12 points on a 3-of-9 shooting night. He also had two steals, an assist and one rebound in 26 minutes of play.
The Cougars defense struggled to stop Bakersfield's hot shooting, with the Renegades 57.6 from the field.
