Canyons Ends Season with 86-68 Loss to No. 14 AVC

The College of the Canyons men's basketball team concluded its season with an 86-68 loss to visiting No. 14 Antelope Valley College on Saturday night.
Despite sophomore guard Victor Nwaba's 30-point performance, Canyons (5-21, 0-14 WSC) was unable to find offense elsewhere.
In addition, COC battled foul trouble for a majority of the game, having committed 27 personal fouls. On the other side of the ball, the Cougars were held to only eight free throws the entire game.
Nwaba added five rebounds, an assist and a steal to his 30-point performance.
COC sophomore guard Jalen Ewell added 10 points, four assists and a team-high seven rebounds.
Sophomore forward Tikko Moore had eight points and five rebounds.
Freshman guard Alex Sanchez added nine points from the bench as well as three rebounds and an assist.
Sophomore Harrison Haynes led the team with seven assists.
Preceding the game, head coach Howard Fisher honored the team's five sophomores — Jalen Ewell, Harrison Haynes, Tikko Moore, Victor Nwaba and Jacob Tobon — in recognition of their participation with the program and the contributions they have made while at COC.
