On the heels of a six-game win streak, the College of the Canyons men's basketball team dropped its second game in a row on Saturday, as the Cougars were downed 91-79 by Western State Conference, South leader Bakersfield College.
Canyons (11-12, 1-2) trailed by one at halftime, and managed to keep the game within reach until the Renegades put together a 9-3 fourth quarter run to build an 11-point lead and seal the Cougars' fate.
COC sophomore center Chris Collins finished the game with 22 points and four rebounds. Freshman guards Michael Kalu and Jason Horosny tied with a team-high seven rebounds.
Horosny also added eight points off the bench and four assists. Kalu had 13 points, two assists and two steals.
Jacob Lilley came up with 16 points, three rebounds and two assists and Alex Sanchez contributed with 10 points and a team-high six assists to go with his six rebounds.
Canyons next heads to West L.A. College on Wednesday, for a 5 p.m. tip off.
