The College of the Canyons men's soccer returned to the win column Tuesday, defeating Glendale Community College 2-0 at COC's upper field.
An early strike from Cougars leading scorer Jesus Pescador set the tone early in COC's dominating performance.
Pescador scored his sixth goal of the season in the third minute of play with an assist from sophomore forward Thomas Pugliese. The Cougars lead 1-0 entering the half.
The Cougars dominated the action, peppering the Glendale goal area in the first half, outshooting Glendale 7-1.
The Cougars came out in the second half looking to continue the onslaught and capitalized in the 54th minute from a Jonathan Noriega goal. Freshman Andres Lozano assisted on the Noriega's first goal of the season. The Cougars led 2-0 and didn't look back.
The Cougars defenders held back Glendale's advances toward goal allowing only five shots during the match. COC goalkeeper Steven Rodriguez faced just one shot on his goal and earned his fifth clean sheet of the season.
The victory boosts COC's record to 7-2-4 overall and to 5-1-4 against Western State Conference rivals.
COC next hosts Santa Barbara City College on Oct. 24.
