Canyons Men's Soccer Has Six Players Earn All-Conference Honors
The College of the Canyons men's soccer team featured had a number of postseason award winners, with six Cougars honored as members of the 2015 All-Western State Conference (WSC) team.
COC sophomore forward Oscar Sanchez and sophomore defender Omar Navarro were both named First-Team All-WSC selections.
Sanchez turned in a fantastic sophomore season, leading the team in goals (eight), assists (four), points (20), shots (25) and shots on goal (19), while starting 16 of 19 games for the Cougars.
Earning Second-Team All-WSC bids were freshman defender Anthony Salvadori and goalkeeper Cristian Arriaga.
Arriaga finished the season with a record of 6-5-7, while placing second in the WSC in saves (75) and shutouts (eight). His 0.84 goals against average and .824 save percentage both ranked third in the conference.
Sophomore defender Tristin Rochow and freshman defender Luis Arriaga both earned All-WSC Honorable Mention designations.
Canyons completed the 2015 season with a 7-5-7 overall record and a 7-3-6 mark vs. WSC opponents to tie for fourth place among the conference's nine teams.
