Canyons Midfielder Brian Cano Commits to McPherson College.
Cano will be joined by former COC assistant soccer coach Brooks Walsh, who has accepted a coaching position at his alma mater beginning next season.
College of the Canyons sophomore midfielder Brian Cano will continue his playing career at the next level after committing to attend McPherson College, in McPherson Kansas.
The Bulldogs are a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program which competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC).
Cano played in 16 games for the Cougars in 2015 and finished the season with two goals while playing a major role on the defensive end.
"Brian is the workhorse in the middle of the park that we need," said McPherson head soccer coach Doug Quint. "He's not only very technical on the ball, he is a true box-to-box guy that just makes everyone around him better."
At McPherson, Cano will be joined by former COC assistant soccer coach Brooks Walsh, who has accepted a coaching position at his alma mater beginning next season.
Walsh has served as an assistant under head coach Phil Marcellin since 2014. He is also currently the assistant boys soccer coach at Harvard Westlake High School in Sherman Oaks.
As a student-athlete from at McPherson College, Walsh played in 37 career games during the 2011-12 seasons. He was a two-time All-KCAC selection and tallied 16 goals and 12 assists for 44 points in two years with the Bulldogs.
