The Cougars scored first, and were tied at halftime, before eventually taking a 3-1 road loss at Fullerton College on Tuesday, in the team's 2016 season opener.

COC freshman Aaron Winsick was credited with an assist on the play, as the Cougars were in control early on. But despite the quick lead, Canyons wasn't able to put together another scoring attack.
The Hornets (3-0) netted a goal off the foot of Eduin Munguia in the 24th minute, before the Fullerton forward came back to score another in the 60th minute, making it a 2-1 affair.
Fullerton would add an insurance goal 10 minutes later to make it a 3-1 final score.
Canyons will next face Cypress College (1-1) in a 3 p.m. road match on Friday, Sept. 2.
