Canyons Wins Sixth Straight with 8-0 Victory Over Glendale
The Cougars (13-8, 7-0) remain unbeaten for Western State Conference opponents.

College of the Canyons continued its conference win streak with an 8-0 five-inning victory over Glendale College at Whitten Field on Tuesday.
Canyons (13-8, 7-0) has now won six straight games, not including its road contest vs. L.A. Mission back on March 13, which had to be halted in the bottom of the fifth with COC holding a 5-0 lead.
COC sophomore Joy Veloz (4-0) won her fourth game in as many starts, striking out six batters and limited the Vaqueros to just two walks in three innings of work. Megan Wilson and Katie Taix closed out the game by pitching the fourth and fifth innings, respectively.
Katie Clinkunbroomer and Heidi Ludy both drove in a pair of runs from the top of the lineup, and Rena Edwards added two more from the No. 9 spot to help give Canyons a spark.
Ludy finished the game 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored, Clinkunbroomer was 1-for-3 with a double, walk and a run, and Edwards was 2-for-2 with a double, walk and two runs scored.
Tuesdays game vs. the Vaqueros began a busy week for the Cougars who will play in six contests this week, capped off by a non-conference doubleheader vs. Santiago Canyon College on Friday.
Canyons will next travel to Barstow College for a 2:30 p.m. road game on Wednesday, March 28.
