Cougars See Two Swim at State Championship Meet
Rowdy Feather and Jennifer Yamauchi represented Canyons at the 2018 CCCAA Swim & Dive State Championship Meet hosted by De Anza College.

CUPERTINO, Calif. — College of the Canyons closed out its season by seeing two swimmers compete at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Swim & Dive State Championships hosted by De Anza College May 3-5.
COC freshman Rowdy Feather placed seventh in the men's 200y backstroke event with a school-record time of 1:54.08. Earlier this season Feather finished runner-up in the 200y backstroke at the Western State Conference (WSC) Finals.
Feather added to his day by taking 14th in the men's 400 individual medley with a time of 4:15.55. He had previously won the conference title in the event at a mark of 4:16.27.
Feather also took 14th in the 100y backstroke at a time of 53.91 at the state meet.
Canyons sophomore Jennifer Yamauchi finished 16th in the women's 100y backstroke after turning in a time of 2:21.01.
Yamauchi entered the state championships having won back-to-back WSC titles in that 100y backstroke event. She completes her Cougar career with three conference titles (2017 100y backstroke, 2018 100y backstroke, 2018 200y backstroke) and two appearances at the state championship meet.
Yamauchi also placed 16th in the 100y backstroke event at the 2017 state meet at East L.A. College.
