Cougars To Travel To L.A. Trade Tech For First Round Playoff Game
College of the Canyons women's basketball team earned a No. 11 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will travel to No. 6 Los Angeles Trade Tech on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – College of the Canyons women's basketball team earned a No. 11 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will travel to No. 6 Los Angeles Trade Tech on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
Winners of 19 straight, the 2010 Western State Conference, South Division champions finished the regular season with a 22-4 record and a perfect 12-0 record in conference play. It was the team's second consecutive time of recording a perfect WSC record.
No. 6 L.A. Trade Tech finished with a record of 22-3 and 5-3 in the Southcoast, North Division Conference. Trade Tech made huge improvements from last season when the team finished 1-23 and 0-8 in conference.
Also in the Cougars' bracket is No. 3 Mt. SAC, a team the Cougars already beat this season, and No. 14 Mt. San Jacinto, the team COC beat in the first round of the playoffs the last two years.
The winner of the game will take on the winner of No. 3 Mt. SAC, No. 14 Mt. San Jacinto game on Saturday, March 6. The winner of that regional final will advance to the state tournament at Cal Lutheran.
