College of the Canyons sophomore forward Morgan Bizzell will continue her playing career at the University of the Virgin Islands after committing to the Buccaneers women's basketball program.
UVI is an NCAA Division II program located in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Buccaneers compete as a member of the Liga Atletica Interuniversitaria (LAI) which is comprised of 21 American universities located throughout the Caribbean.
A two-time All-Western State Conference (WSC), South Division honoree, Bizzell averaged 10.6 points and 4.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore while primarily coming off the bench for the Cougars. Those numbers ranked her third and fourth, respectively, on the team.
Bizzell finished with double-digit point totals in 12 of the 26 games she played, including six of eight conference games to close out the season.
She also netted a season-high 26 points on a 9-of-18 shooting night vs. Bakersfield College in her final game at the Cougar Cage.
As a freshman, Bizell averaged 13.2 points per game to rank third on the team, while her 9.4 rebounds each night out topped the club.
Canyons finished the 2017-18 season with a 16-11 overall record and 7-1 mark in conference play to share a co-WSC, South Division Championship with West L.A. College. The championship is the 16th in program history. Despite that regular season success, Canyons did not qualify for the postseason.
