SAN DIMAS, Calif. — Freshman Haruka Koda won her third Western State Conference (WSC) event of the season with a one-under score of 71 at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course on Monday, as College of the Canyons remained undefeated on the year.
The tourney win comes a week after Canyons placed first at the annual Morro Bay North-South Invitational, competing against a field of 14 top programs from across the state.
The Lady Cougars have also won the first four WSC events of the season to sit in the conference top spot. On Monday, Canyons finished 30 strokes ahead of second place Santa Barbara City College (345).
Koda currently leads the WSC individual standings with 292 strokes through four events.
Teammate Jessie Lin, who placed second overall at Monday's event, is also second in the conference standings at 296 strokes. Lin fired a round of 74 on Monday in San Dimas.
Joanna Roecker placed fourth overall with her round of 82 while teeing off in the No. 3 spot for Canyons.
Canyons will play in three more conference events before the WSC Finals begin on Oct. 28. The two-day, 36-hole event will be held at Alisal River Golf Course in Solvang.
Up next, the Lady Cougars will host a home tourney on Monday, Oct. 8, at Elkin's Ranch in Fillmore.
