GLENDORA, Calif. – College of the Canyons women's soccer team could not hold on to a 1-0 lead as the Cougars played Citrus College to a 1-1 final on Friday afternoon. Canyons moves to 9-1-3 overall and 5-0-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Stacey Atwater scored the lone goal for COC in the 70th minute.
The Cougars held on to that lead for 17 minutes, until Citrus' Daniella Flores scored the equalizer in the 87th minute.
Canyons outshot the Owls 14-9 in the loss. Atwater and Kelsey Sherry led the team with three shots apiece.
Sophomore goalie Katherine Koury gave up her first goal of the conference season, while collecting three saves.
The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 22 as they host Antelope Valley College at 4 p.m.
