Cougars Draw 1-1 at L.A. Valley
Canyons (9-5-4, 6-2-3) is unbeaten in its last five games and sits third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division.

VALLEY GLEN, Calif. — Freshman midfielder Lesly Cabrera gave College of the Canyons an early 1-0 lead, but it wasn't enough as the Cougars eventually played to a 1-1 draw vs. L.A. Valley College on Tuesday.
Cabrera's unassisted goal, her fourth of the season, came in the 24th minute and made it a 1-0 game. She has now scored goals in three of the last four matches.
Canyons (9-5-4, 6-2-3) was able to hold on to its lead heading into halftime.
However, the Monarchs (7-8-4, 5-4-2) evened things up in the 55th minute on a goal by Emily Arzeta to make it 1-1.
The score would stay knotted with the two teams eventually settling for the draw.
Aaliyah Lopez (8-5-4) recorded six saves in the match.
The two teams tied with 11 shots and four corners each.
Canyons will close out the regular season with a pair of conference home games.
Up first, COC hosts Citrus College at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
The Cougars are third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division four points behind second place Santa Monica (11-4-3, 8-2-1). Citrus (13-5, 10-1) leads the conference.
