Canyons Runs Into Tough Glendale Squad

College of the Canyons hosted another tough opponent in conference rival Glendale College on Tuesday, as the Cougars suffered a tough 9-0 loss to the first place Vaqueros.
Canyons (2-5) struggled to score in the first five singles matches before Brenda Aguilar won six games in pushing her match to 6-2, 6-4.
Genises Ordonez and Marisa Wambolt were the only other players to win singles games for the Cougars.
In doubles competition, the team of Ordonez and Ruth Kedrowski came the closest to victory in losing a competitive 8-6 doubles match.
The Vaqueros (10-2) sit atop the Western State Conference standings with a perfect 6-0 conference mark. The Cougars are currently sixth in the eight-team conference.

Canyons (2-7) will continue its inaugural season by next traveling to Antelope Valley College at 2 p.m. Tuesday March 6.
