Lady Cougars Push Streak to Five in 6-3 Win Over Ventura
Canyons (8-3, 8-1), which owns the longest active win streak in the conference, sits a game behind SBCC (11-2, 9-0) in the WSC standings.

The Lady Cougars won again on Tuesday, defeating visiting Ventura College 6-3 to run its current win streak to five straight conference matches and move within a game of first place Santa Barbara City College.
COC freshman Una Stanisavlievic remained undefeated in conference play with her victory (6-4, 6-0), then joined forces with teammate Seleste Sakato to help win the Cougars' No. 1 doubles pairing by an 8-3 margin.
Sophomore Marissa Wambolt (6-0, 6-3), freshman Nicole Villarta (7-5, 6-3) and Sakato (6-2, 6-2) all picked up comfortable wins to open up an early 4-2 advantage over the Pirates heading into doubles play.
In the later matches the combination of Celeste Hernandez and Calista Lian, which both lost their singles outings, came away with an 8-3 doubles victory. That advantage helped COC to its 6-3 final score.
Canyons (8-3, 8-1), which owns the longest active win streak in the conference, will next host SBCC (11-2, 9-0) at home on Thursday. That match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
