Canyons Improves to 10-1 with Win Over Cuesta College

The No. 3 College of the Canyons women's volleyball team held off visiting Cuesta College in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-9) victory to improve to 10-1 on the season.
COC was led by sophomore outside hitter Emily Bible who tallied nine kills with a hitting percentage of .438. Bible also led the team with 12 digs.
Sophomore opposite Alize Bricot added to the offense with eight of her own kills and a .353 hitting percentage.
Canyons also received great production from its three middles. COC sophomores Erica Magee and Camari McWright, and freshman Alexa Hesseldenz combined for a .368 hitting percentage and 3.5 total blocks in the match.
COC sophomore outside hitter Brooke Garelick led the team with five aces on the night and added 11 digs for head coach Lisa Hooper's team.
Canyons will return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 30, when the Cougars travel to No. 4 Santa Barbara City College to play in the finale of the annual Western State Conference (WSC) Crossover Series featuring teams from the conference's North and South divisions.
The Cougars will then return home on Friday, Oct. 2 for the WSC opener when they host Antelope Valley College.
