No. 14 College of the Canyons hosted No. 2 Ventura College in the first meeting since the two programs met during the 2021 postseason, with the Cougars dropping a 3-1 result. Set scores were 22-25, 25-14, 25-15, 25-18.

Canyons (5-6) found some momentum in the first set but ultimately could not maintain that pace against a Ventura team that has now won 10 straight to begin the season.

COC sophomores Aly Grodell and Brianna Botello led the team with nine kills apiece, with Grodell swinging at a .350 clip. Grodell also recorded three aces and blocked a shot.

Freshman Grace Rodriguez recorded a team-high 17 assists with sophomore Jordan Nunez right behind her at 13. Sabrina Sveiven ended the night with eight digs followed by Ariana Vargas with seven and Nunez with six.
