Cougars Cross Country Earns Nine All-WSC Selections
COC's men's team claimed five All-WSC selections while the women's team had four.

The College of the Canyons cross country program had a combined nine runners from the men's and women's teams earn All-Western State Conference (WSC) honors for the 2019 season.
Individual results from the WSC Championship meet held at Fairbanks Park in San Luis Obispo on Oct. 25, were used to determine All-Conference selections.
Freshmen David Salazar (4th/ 22:39.6) and Mathew Liebman (12th/23:09.2) both earned All-WSC First Team honors.
Tarek Khezri (26th/24:14.6) was a Second Team selection with Mauricio Abrego (37th/25:17.6) and Brannon Barber (41st/25:39.5) earning Honorable Mention designations.
On the women's side freshman Diana Perez (11th/21:56) was the sole All-WSC First Team honoree.
Paris Camacho (15th/22:37.5), Sarah Zumudio (21st/23:10.3) and Lauren Franco (24th/23:33.5) were each recognized with Second Team honors.
Canyons completed the 2019 season with a final run at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in Fresno. The event marked the first time since 2016 that both College of the Canyons cross country programs competed at the state meet.
