Natalie Satamian and Andrew Henderson Named COC Student-Athletes of the Week

College of the Canyons student-athletes Natalie Satamian (women's basketball) and Andrew Henderson (men's basketball) have been named the COC Athletic Department's Women's & Men's Student-Athletes of the Week for the period running Jan. 16-21, 2023. Satamian and Henderson are the third set of honorees for 2023.

Satamian shot the lights out with a highlight 10-of-15 performance, including five three-pointers, that resulted in a game-high 25 points to help the Lady Cougars' earn a 75-62 road win over West L.A. on Jan. 18. The sophomore also added four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in her 35 minutes of action.

Later in the week, Satamian came off the bench as the Cougars' lone sub, logging 35 minutes and adding 11 crucial points, four rebounds, six assists a steal and a block in an exciting 68-67 home win over Glendale College on Saturday. Jan. 21. The victory moved Canyons into a tie with the Vaqueros for first place in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division.

The Granada Hills High School alum is averaging 8.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game thus far this season.

Henderson posted back-to-back standout performances for the Cougars despite two unfortunate losses for Canyons.

In COC's road loss at West L.A. on Jan. 18, Henderson poured in a game-high 26 points on a 10-of-19 shooting night, with two rebounds, two assists, a steal and block.

Three nights later, Henderson finished with 18 points and tied for the game-high with 11 rebounds to go with three assists and a pair of blocks during the Cougars' heartbreaking 71-70 OT loss to visiting Glendale College.

Henderson, who attended Chatsworth High School, currently ranks second in the conference averaging 16.4 points per game with 5.6 rebounds and two assists each night out.
