College of the Canyons will hosts is week five game at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, as the No. 4 Cougars host No. 7 Riverside City College at Cougar Stadium.
All Cougars home games will be live streamed to fans on the Cougars Sports Netwrok through a broadcast partnership with SoCalCollegeSports.com. To watch the week five live stream vs. Riverside City click here.
General admission tickets to Cougars football games are $10. Kids under 12 and seniors over 65 are $5.
Fans can now purchase advance tickets to Saturday's game through the COC Athletic Department's new electronic ticketing service provided by HomeTown Ticketing.
This week the Cougars have also invited staff and students from all local Santa Clarita Valley schools to attend the game free of charge (valid staff/student photo ID required).
Saturday's game is a non-conference contest and the final game before both teams head into their mid-season bye week.
Canyons has started the season a perfect 4-0 after back-to-back wins vs. state ranked opponents Fullerton College and Palomar College over the last two weeks.
COC quarterback Tooni Ikahihifo was named the Southern California Football Association (SCFA) National Division Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Palomar in week four. Ikahihifo finished the game 19-of-34 for 355 yards and five passing touchdowns and added 87 yards on nine carries and a rushing touchdown to lead the Cougars on the ground.
The Canyons defensive unit continues to play at a high level, surrendering just 16 points per game to rank ninth in the state, while slotting among the state leaders in sack totals with 15.
The Cougars currently rank No. 4 in the most recent California Community College Sports Informa- tion Association (CCCSIA) poll released on Sept. 28. COC also checked in at No. 4 in the JC Athletic Bureau Head Coaches Poll.
Riverside City (3-1) enters the game as the No. 7 ranked team in both the CCCSIA poll and the coaches poll. The Tigers are coming off a 37-20 home loss to Golden West College last week.
Canyons and RCC last met in the 2019 SCFA Southern California Championship game on Nov. 30, 2019. The Tigers won that game before going on to win the 2019 State & National Championships
