College of the Canyons sophomore Quincy Arms has committed to continue his basketball career as a Willian Penn University Statesmen for the upcoming season.

William Penn is an NAIA program and competes in the Heart of America Athletic Conference out of Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Arms, a two-year player for the Cougars, started in 25 of 28 games and averaged seven points per game.

The Hollywood High School alum accumulated 197 total points while shooting 31.2 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the arc. From the foul line, Arms put down 46 of his 61 attempts, resulting in a 75.4 free-throw percentage.

The six-foot-three-inch guard averaged 2.4 rebounds per game, working for 17 offensive rebounds and 50 defensive boards. Arms recorded 47 assists and 13 steals for the Cougars.

Arms' biggest moment of the season came in an 83-80 OT victory over L.A. Valley College on Jan. 28.  The sophomore's clutch three-pointer in the closing seconds of the extra period helped push Canyons past LAVC and snap a three-game losing streak.

COC closed out the 2022-23 season with an even 14-4 record overall, going 5-9 in conference.
