Bio

Joe Broder is entering his sixth season and seventh year as an assistant coach with the College of the Canyons men’s basketball program.

His responsibilities with the team include day-to-day operations and administrative duties including: game preparation, player development, scouting and recruiting. He also aids the student-athletes in the pursuit of their academic goals.

Prior to arriving at COC, Broder served as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program at his alma mater University High School in Los Angeles. Broder was also a three-year varsity letterman with the Wildcats from 2003 to 2005.

With a vibrant passion for the game of basketball and teaching young people, Broder is dedicated to seeing the continued success of the COC men’s basketball program on and off the court.

Broder earned a Bachelor of Arts in cultural anthropology and a minor certificate in exercise and sports management from University of California, Santa Barbara in 2012. He also received his associate degree in general studies from El Camino College in 2010.

In 2017, Broder received his Master of Arts in coaching education and athletic administration from Concordia University. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in the same field.
