Canyons Get Back in the Win Column at WSC Tourney No. 8
Cougars pull out a three-stroke victory over tourney host Glendale College.
The College of the Canyons men's golf team finished first at Western State Conference (WSC) Tournament No. 8 after posting a team score of 381 to pull out a three-stroke victory at Oakmont Country Club on Monday.
Tourney host Glendale College (378) finished in second place while Santa Barabara City College (392) took third place.
Also included in the field were Allan Hancock (403), Antelope Valley (434), Bakersfield (443), Citrus (399), and Ventura (408).
As has become a regularity, COC sophomore Eric Kim led Canyons with a team-best score of 71.
Freshman Matt Murray and sophomore Braden Lewis each turned in scores of 76 for the Cougars.
Sophomores Noa Yap and Sam Sloman each finished with a score of 79.
COC now has a five-point lead in the conference standings and will be looking to claim its sixth straight WSC championship.
Canyons will next play in a neutral site WSC Tourney on Monday, April 20, at Olivas Links Golf Course in Ventura.
