OXNARD, Calif. — College of the Canyons freshman Nobuhiko Wakaari finished at even par to win medalist honors, while Tom Sims and Anguerrand Voisin tied for second to give the Cougars their first tourney win of the season at River Ridge Golf Course.
Canyons (371) finished 11 strokes up on second place Santa Barbara City College (382). Ventura (399) narrowly took third over Glendale (402) in the four spot.
COC took second in the season opener at Bakersfield Country Club then settled for third at Alisal Ranch a week later before notching its first victory of the season.
Among the highlights for Canyons was the hole-in-one recorded by Voison on the par-three 17th hole. That helped the freshman finish the day one-over at 73.
