SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The College of the Canyons men's soccer team notched it second consecutive victory on Friday afternoon as they Cougars defeated the Citrus College Owls 3-1 at COC's Upper Field. Canyons used goals from three different players to help the team improve to 6-7-4 overall and 6-5-2 in conference play.
After playing to a scoreless tie in the first half, Canyons took the early lead 13 minutes into the second half. Sophomore Jamie Bent got the score on the board after a free kick that sailed into the top right side of the net.
Just four minutes later Thomas Pugliese netted a shot that was deflected by Citrus and sophomore Renato Sanchez found the ball and punched it past the Owl goalkeeper.
In the 65th minute, Canyons saw Citrus come within one goal, 2-1.
Canyons out-shot Citrus 16-9 on the afternoon. Bosacci paced the Cougars with six shots and Bent tallied three. COC's keeper Miguel Lopez made one saves in the winning effort.
The Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 5 as they travel to Oxnard College for a 3 p.m. match
