Two Cougars Qualify for State Championship Diving Meet

TORRANCE, Calif. – College of the Canyons divers Peighton Hall and Luke Wesselhoff punched their tickets to the CCCAA State Championship Meet after finishing in the top eight of the Southern California Championships in their respective diving events.

Hall finished in eighth place in the 1-meter dive with 162.85 points, leading the Western State Conference divers. Rae Adams of Orange Coast College won the event with 215.00 points. In the 3-meter dive, Hall turned in 137.45 points and came in ninth. She was named the first alternate for the state meet.

Wesselhoff tallied 172.80 points in the 3-meter dive to come in second among Western State Conference divers and eighth overall. Saddleback College's Jacob Swansen came in first place with his score of 333.75. In the 1-meter dive, he came in ninth overall and second in the Western State Conference, with a score of 192.05.

The two divers will compete in the State Championships on May 1-2 at East LA College.
