Boozer and Gaulke Lead Canyons to Second Place Result
Canyons freshman Tyra Boozer (86) and Nisha Gaulke (88) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the individual standings.

SIMI VALLEY — College of the Canyons freshman Tyra Boozer finished fifth overall and Nisha Gaulke tied for sixth in the individual standings, as the Cougars placed second in the team results during the Western State Conference (WSC) event held at Simi Hills Golf Course on Monday.
Boozer's round of 86 represented a season-best score. She has now placed within the top-10 in back-to-back tournaments.
Gaulke finished just two strokes behind Boozer at 88, tying for sixth with Moorpark College golfer Lili Ramos.
Marie Naud followed up those efforts with a score of 96 to finish just outside the top-10.
Katie La Torre was also included in the final scoring after finishing her day at 102.
Antelope Valley College won the event with a four-player score of 361. The Marauders continue to lead the WSC season standings.
Canyons (372) followed in second place, with Citrus (376) providing pressure in the third-place spot. Bakersfield (394) finished fourth. Moorpark and Santa Barbara City College did not qualify for team scoring.
The Cougars next host their home tournament on Monday, Oct. 18 at El Cariso Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
