SAN DIMAS — College of the Canyons continues to lead the Western State Conference (WSC) team standings after winning a fifth straight tourney at San Dimas Country Club on Monday.
Canyons (30-0) featured all five players in the top 25 of the individual standings, including co-medalist Sahya Kitabatake.
The Cougars (341) led the team standings by nine strokes over runner-up Allan Hancock (350). Santa Barbara City College (356) was third just ahead of fourth-place Moorpark College (363).
Kitabatake, the current Jersey Mike's Student-Athlete of the Week, carded a one-over-par round of 73 for the second straight week. That tied with Kailia Aparicio for tops in the individual standing. Kitabatake has now medaled in the first five conference events to begin the season.
Elsewhere, it was freshman Alex Downing with a round of 84, nearly matching her season-best score from week two, to place fifth in the standings.
Sofia Allard was next at 87, with the freshman slotting into seventh place.
Baily Fara Lieberman was the final of four scorers for Canyons, finishing in a tie for 17th, after her round of 97.
Freshman Zoe Keigley made her season debut for the Cougars, taking 24th in the field of 36 with a score of 107, but had her score scratched from the team total.
Canyons will host its home tourney Monday, Oct. 6, at Encino Golf Course. Tee time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
