Cougars Net PK Goal, Draw 1-1 vs. Antelope Valley
Canyons (3-3-2) is now unbeaten in its last three matches having picked up a win and back-to-back draws.

College of the Canyons sophomore Celia Franco booted a penalty kick goal in the 86th minute to put the home team on the board and tie the game, as the Cougars played to a 1-1 draw vs. Antelope Valley College in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division opener on Tuesday.
Canyons (3-3-2) is now unbeaten in its last three matches, having earned a 3-0 road win over L.A. Pierce, following by a scoreless draw vs. Santa Barbara City College and Tuesday's 1-1 draw vs. AVC.
The Marauders (3-3-2) got on the board with an unassisted goal by sophomore forward Evencia Welsh in the 33rd minute, to give AVC the early 1-0 lead.
COC maintained a balanced attack throughout the contest with the Cougars totaling four shots in each period. The Cougars also finished the game with two corners, one in each half.
Franco's PK goal was her first of the season and came at the perfect moment after the Cougars were able to draw a foul in the box.
Canyons goalkeeper Aaliyah Lopez (2-3-2) allowed a goal for the first time in her last three starts. Lopez was credited with two saves in the game.
Brooke Chambers, Emily Perez and Araceli Castaneda also registered shots for the Cougars.
COC continues its conference schedule with a road tilt at Bakersfield College (1-5-1) at 4 p.m. on Friday.
