CULVER CITY, Calif. — The Cougars netted six goals to easily defeat host West L.A. College by a 6-0 final score on Friday.
Canyons (10-5-4, 7-2-3) has not lost a match in six outings, having posted a 5-0-1 record during that span. West L.A. is still winless on the season.
Araceli Castaneda was the first to etch her name in the scorebook with an unassisted goal in the 11th minute.
Nicole Bulnes added a goal of her own to make it 2-0 in the 21st minute. A mere five minutes later Telia Bridges got on the board to make it a 3-0 game. Celia Franco closed out the first half scoring with a goal just before halftime.
Canyons recorded 21 shots in the game, and maintained the scoring attack in the second half.
Lesly Cabrera scored a game for the second game in a row, pushing the score to 5-0 in the 79th minute.
Emily Perez was the last to score, making it a 6-0 off an assist from Briana De Santiago in the 87th minute.
Goalkeeper Aaliyah Lopez (9-5-4) earned the win for Canyons.
COC had previously defeated West L.A. by a 13-0 score on Oct. 15.
