No. 17 Canyons Travels to No. 16 Mt. SAC in Opening Round Postseason Match
COC finished 12-5-4 overall with a record of 9-2-3 in conference play to finish third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division.

College of the Canyons women's soccer will play in the postseason for a ninth straight year!
Canyons has been named the No. 17 seed and travels to face No. 16 Mt. San Antonio College at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in a CCCAA SoCal Regional Play-in Game.

COC finished the regular season 12-5-4 overall with a record of 9-2-3 in conference play to finish third in the Western State Conference (WSC), South Division. Citrus won the conference with 36 points followed by Santa Monica (34) and COC (30). Canyons split its season series 1-1 with both Citrus and SMC.
The Cougars led the WSC with 62 goals. Freshmen Araceli Castaneda and Brooke Chambers led the way with 14 and 10, respectively. Maggie Maldonado and Andrea Marrufo finished tied for the team lead with six assists.
Freshman goalkeeper Aaliyah Lopez was in net for all but one victory this season, and was sixth in the conference with a 1.15 goals against average to go with 58 saves.
Canyons is undefeated in its last eight matches having won its final three contests of the regular season with a 13-1 goal differential. COC netted at least five goals in three of its last five outings.
Mt. SAC (13-6-2, 5-3-0) finished fourth in the South Coast Conference (SCC) after winning its final three games on the schedule. Prior to that run the Mounties dropped three straight.
Sophomore midfielder Liani Sanchez leads Mt. SAC with 18 goals and freshman forward Alyssa Gomez is second with 14. Mt. SAC has rotated to goalkeepers with Sophia Kramer (5-1-2) and Gabrielle Leon (8-5-0) both logging starts.
The winner of Thursday's match will advance to face No. 1 seed Cypress College (17-0-3) on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the first round of the CCCAA SoCal Regional.
