CERRITOS, Calif. – College of the Canyons women's volleyball easily handled their first game of the Cerritos Tournament defeating Imperial Valley 3-1 (25-14, 25-17, 17-25, 25-5). The victory levels COC's record at 2-2.
College of the Canyons' standout Serena Leduff led the way with 13 kills on 26 attacks. Erika Tamayo and Lauren Underwood also added nine kills apiece
Freshman Katie Rutecki continued her great season adding 26 assists to her career stat sheet. Fellow freshman Alexis Serafin also added 13 assists of her own.
COC will next face Long Beach City College in the second round of the Cerritos Tournament.
