Cougars Volleyball Cruises to Third Straight Win
Middle Blocker Kaitlyn Reiner Registers 13 points in the Winning Effort
After a pair of impressive home wins against Riverside and Long Beach City College, the College of the Canyons volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-21) victory at rival Ventura College on Friday, extending its winning streak to three matches.
As has come to be expected, COC sophomore outside hitter Serena LeDuff led the way for the Cougars, finishing with 15 kills and nine digs for a total of 15.5 points and a .414 kill percentage.
Middle blocker Kaitlyn Reiner came up big for COC with 13 points of her own, while Lauren Underwood added six kills in the match.
Erika Tamayo also added five kills, while Katie Rutecki continued to distribute the ball with efficiency in racking up 32 assists to go with two kills of her own.
With the win, the Cougars move to 7-3 on the season heading into their showdown with Allan Hancock on Wednesday at 7 p.m in the Cougar Cage.
Canyons hasn't dropped a set since falling to Cerritos on Sept. 13.
The Cougars' Conference schedule will begin with a Friday night home contest against West L.A. at 6 p.m. in the Cougar Cage.
