Cougars Get 91-71 Road Win at Santa Barbara
Canyons (4-1) received 19 second-half points from freshman Andrew Henderson (24) to win in convincing fashion.

SANTA BARBARA — College of the Canyons took a six-point lead into halftime then outpaced the host Vaqueros by 14 points down the stretch to pick up a 91-71 road victory on Wednesday night.
Canyons (4-1) had three starters score in double figures including a game-high 21 points from freshman Andrew Henderson.
Jimmy Galgano and Dillon Barrientos finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, while King Miller's 16 points off the bench led all reserves from both sides.
The Cougars shot better than 41 percent for the game but were slow to start, going just 13-of-36 in the first half and 3-of-14 from downtown.
Early foul trouble limited Henderson to five minutes and two points in the first half. Freshman Corwin Smith helped keep the Cougars in the game with seven bench points in the opening period.
Henderson heated up after hallftime, finishing the game a perfect 7-of-7 with six rebounds and a block.
Aaron Reyes led the Cougars with eight rebounds, while Barrientos and Smith added seven each. Those totals helped Canyons win the battle of the boards 58-31.
Galgano also got hot in the second half burying a pair of three-pointers to help keep the Cougars in front.
Santa Barbara (3-2) was led by Wilfred Nado with 16 points after going 8-of-11 from the foul line. Tommy Condon also finished in double figures for the Vaqueros with 10 points.
Canyons is currently averaging 91.2 points per game to rank sixth in the state. The Cougars are also second in the state with an average of 52.6 rebounds each night.
Henderson's 19.8 points per game places him at No. 16 in the state.
COC returns to the Cougar Cage at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20 to host Chaffey College. That contest will be livestreamed to fans via YouTube on the Cougars Sports Network.
