El-Farra and Gonzalez Earn All-WSC Honors

College of the Canyons sophomores Jonah El-Farra and Jacob Gonzalez have both been honored with All-Western State Conference (WSC) honors for their respective efforts throughout the 2023-24 season.
El-Farra had a spectacular sophomore season leading the Cougars with 16.3 points and a state-best 11.9 rebounds per game. His scoring average, which checked in at 18.3 during conference play, ranked eighth in the WSC and fourth among WSC, South programs. Likewise, El-Farra's shooting percentage of 55.2 was tops on the team and seventh in the WSC.
The West Ranch High School graduate averaged 3.5 boards off the offensive glass each night to go along 1.2 assists while playing a team-high 28.7 minutes across 28 games with 24 starts.
He reached double-digit point totals in 24 games including a season-best 33 points vs. West L.A. on Jan. 24. He topped 20 points on eight occasions.
El-Farra pulled down a season-best 20 rebounds vs. Citrus College on Feb. 10, one of 18 games in which he reached double digits. The dominating power forward also recorded three games with 18 rebounds and four contests with 17.
This is El-Farra's second All-WSC First-Team selection. As a freshman he finished third on the team with 12.1 points per game while leading the squad with nine rebounds each night to rank second in the WSC, South.
Gonzalez was named an All-WSC, South Division Honorable Mention selection.
The sophomore guard averaged 6.4 points alongside two rebounds and a team-best 2.3 assists per game.
Gonzalez, who attended Chatsworth High School, logged starts in 27 of 28 games ranking behind only El-Farra at 23.3 minutes each night out.
His season high 17 points came in an 83-71 road victory at Cuesta College on Jan. 3. Gonzalez also recorded a season-best six assists on three occasions.
