Six Cougars Selected to All-WSC Team
COC sophomores Jake Erazo and Jesus Ocampo were both named to the All-Western State Conference (WSC), South Division First Team to headline 2019 award winners.

College of the Canyons was recognized with six all-conference selections after an up-and-down season which saw the Cougars narrowly miss out on a second straight postseason berth.
COC sophomores defender Jake Erazo and sophomore midfielder Jesus Ocampo were both named to the All-Western State Conference (WSC), South Division First Team.
Erazo, who served as one of the team captains, was a key member of the Cougars' back line and added a goal in the team's season finale.
Ocampo, also a team captain, finished the year with a goal and an assist and started in all 16 games he played.
Former high school teammates Dylan Sullivan and Frank Ornelas were recognized with All-WSC Second Team selections after landing at COC via Saugus High School.
Sullivan led the team with six goals from his forward position and added three assists across 15 matches for a team-high 15 points. Ornelas finished with four goals and an assist, good for nine points, as a midfielder.
Freshman defender Jacob Nuno and sophomore goalkeeper Kian Bensend earned Honorable Mention recognitions.
Nuno appeared in 14 games with six starts to play a key defensive role for the Cougars. Bensend started 17 of 18 games in goal with three shutouts and a 1.71 goals against average.
COC (3-11-4, 2-3-3) finished the 2019 season a game short of winning a second straight conference title after falling to visiting Bakersfield College 2-1 in the season finale.
