NEW RANKINGS — Canyons Softball No. 20 in 3CFCA Statewide Poll

College of the Canyons has entered the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) statewide rankings for the first time this season, making its debut as the No. 20 team in the state and No. 10 program in Southern California.
Canyons (23-15-1) had been previously unranked through the season before appearing in the 3CFCA poll released on April 20. The full state and regional rankings are available here.
The Cougars have posted a 3-1 record since poll voting last took place with conference wins over Glendale and L.A. Valley College before splitting a home doubleheader vs. No. 4 Palomar College on April 23.
During the course of the season Canyons has notched wins over four teams that appear in the current poll (Palomar, No. 6 Cypress, No. 10 Santiago Canyon and No. 11 Long Beach City).
Of the Cougars' 15 losses this season, 11 have come against opponents included in the current poll with Palomar, Cypress, Santiago Canyon and Long Beach joining No. T12 Bakersfield, No. T12 Cerritos, and No. 1 Mt. San Antonio to comprise that group.
COC will close out the regular season with a home tilt vs. Antelope Valley College (27-12, 8-3) on Tuesday, April 26.
Canyons is currently a game behind the Marauders in the Western State Conference (WSC), East Division standings. The Cougars dropped an 8-7 road result at AVC back on March 31.
