Cougars Swim at Cuesta College Invite

SAN LUIS OBISPO — College of the Canyons swim & dive headed north to compete in the weekend-long event on the campus of Cuesta College.
Canyons first swam in Friday's 'sprint meet' portion of the event and saw some early success.
Diego Rozbruch was third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.19. Rozbruch also took 15th in the 100-yard IM (1:07.13) and 17th in the 50-yard butterfly (27.15).
Jakob Glasshoff clocked a time of 1:03.43 to finish 10th in the 100-yard IM. A few lanes over it was Keanu Pence taking 18th (1:09.00) in the same event.
On the women's side it was Olivia Miles with a pair of top-10 finishes. Miles was ninth in the 50-yard backstroke (37.19) and eighth in the 100-yard IM (1:17.82).
Stella Vigdorchik took ninth in the 50-yard breaststroke (41.53) and Maria Paras was ninth in the 100-yard IM (1:25.24).
On day two the Cougars again turned in some noteworthy results.
Max Brown was 20th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:25.06) and Glasshoff took 21st in both the 50-yard butterfly (27.39) and 200-yard IM (2:24.87).
Pence turned in a 12th place time of 2:28.44 in the 200-yard butterfly. Rozbrach also had a 14th place finish in the 100-yard freestyle (51.04).
Freshman Nicole Lerma made a splash with her first diving event of the season, taking 16th with a score of 102.15 in the 1m event.
Canyons is back in action Saturday, March 16 at Western State Conference (WSC) meet No. 2 hosted by Ventura College.
