Cougars Swim at Annual Pasadena City College Invite

PASADENA — The College of the Canyons swim & dive team had a fearsome competition at Pasadena City College Invitational, with the women's team placing 11th and the men's team taking sixth place.
COC's men's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Max Brown, Keanu Pence, Declan Sheridan and Diego Rozbruch (FR) started the first day hot by finishing seventh overall with a time of
1:39.27.
Nicholas Jeffries competed in the 500-yard freestyle, finishing a fast 6:36.85, representing an eight-second drop from his last event and establishing a new personal best time in the event.
Rozbruch continued his own hot streak with a strong outing in both the 50-yard freestyle (22.40) and 100-yard butterfly (54.86), both personal bests.
Sheridan also put up two new personal bests in the 200-yard freestyle (2:12.45) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.50) events, finishing 17th and 15th, respectively.
Pence also joined the action, earning three event points in the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.84) and swimming a new personal-best time in the 50-yard freestyle (24.99).
On the women's side, Nicole Lerma gained 27 points in the 1m and 3m dive events, finishing sixth and fifth, respectively.
The Cougars will next compete at the Western State Conference (WSC) Championships being held April 18-20 at Ventura College.
