Canyons Doubles Up Palo Verde 94-46

College of the Canyons turned in its highest-scoring performance of the season with a convincing 94-46 victory vs. Palo Verde College on Wednesday at the Cougar Cage.
Canyons (5-3) built a 19-point lead by the end of the first quarter and didn't look back, putting up an average of just under 24 points each quarter.
Palo Verde (1-11) is in its second full season of the program's history, backed by head coach Dylan Longley.
The Cougars success came in part from a total of 53 rebounds and a 50 percent field goal percentage, combined with 13 three-pointers netted.
Five different Cougars put up double digits with sophomore Monique Febles leading the Cougars with 22 points and freshman Hannah Talentino on her heals with 21 of her own.
Febles went 12-of-18 from the field, with five total rebounds, two assists and two steals.
COC sophomore April Tuason recorded a total of 17 points, going 5-of-15 form the three-point line.
Natalie Satamian and Lulu Salloom both worked for 12 points each, Salloom also recorded 12 assists.
Of the Cougars 53 rebounds, Salloom was responsible for a game-high 22 of those, snatching 14 defensive rebounds and eight on the offensive end.
Off the bench, sophomore Natasha Surgick put in 16 minutes of work recording eight rebounds alongside freshman Emma Garcia who put away six points of her own in her 13 minutes on the court.

Upcoming Schedule
The Cougars are back on the court Dec. 21-22 at the annual Glendale College Crossover tournament with matchups against Rio Hondo College on Wednesday, followed by a match-up with Allan Hancock on Thursday. Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 3 p.m.
