Canyons Wins Second Tourney of the Week at Simi Hills
Canyons has now won 16 straight Western State Conference (WSC) events dating back to the 2018 season.

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — College of the Canyons won its second tournament of the week on Wednesday, this time narrowly topping runner-up Santa Barbara City College by three strokes to remain undefeated and extend its conference win streak to 16 events.
Canyons finished the round at Simi Hills Golf Course with a four-player score of 316, just ahead of SBCC at 319. The two programs have placed in that order at every Western State Conference (WSC) tourney this season. Antelope Valley College (403) was third with Citrus (416) and Bakersfield (454) following. Host Moorpark College did not score in the team competition.
Sophomore Jessie Lin was the top finisher for Canyons for the second time this week. Lin earned medalist honors with her score of 71, just two days after finishing as runner-up at Monday's WSC event in San Dimas.
Haruka Koda was third overall with a score of 75 while Paige Heuer checked in at five with a round of 82. Shabana Poswal at 88 was the fourth to score for Canyons. Fredeliza Lieberman (89) and Delaney Young (104) had their scores dropped from the final tally.
Canyons continues to lead the WSC with a conference record of 35-0. SBCC is right behind at 28-7 with AVC sits in third at 17-18. COC has now won 16 straight WSC events dating back to the 2018 season.
Up next, the Cougars will host its home tourney on Monday, Oct. 21, at Sand Canyon Country Club. Tee time is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
Monday's round will be the final tune-up before heading into the two-day WSC Finals event Oct. 27-28 at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo.
