College of the Canyons has jumped back into the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) statewide ranking after a three-match win streak that has come against Western State Conference (WSC), South Division opponents.
The Cougars check in as the No. 25 team in the current ranking released on Oct. 18, after having been unranked the previous week. The full statewide rankings are available here.
COC (6-8, 4-1) picked up wins against West L.A., Citrus and Glendale College during the streak. That burst helped head coach Clay Timmons and his squad recalibrate after a tough five-game skid during the month of September.
No. 25 Canyons has since extended its streak to four matches after Wednesday's 3-0 (25-18, 25-7, 25-22) road win at Antelope Valley College (5-6, 2-4).
The Cougars currently sit in a second-place tie with Santa Monica College (9-6, 4-1) in the WSC, South standings. No. 6 Bakersfield College (12-1, 6-0) continues to lead the conference.
Canyons is slated to host Bakersfield on Friday, Oct. 22. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
